What you can queue for in Season 30, which squad sizes exist, and what happened to Solos, Quads and Arenas — with the dates they last ran.
The short version
EA splits the playlists into Core — Ranked and Unranked battle royale, in Trios or Duos — and Freestyle: Wildcard, Mixtape and Bot Royale Evolved. Limited-time events now run inside Wildcard rather than as a separate playlist. There is no Solos, Quads or Arenas queue this season.

- 22 September 2026 – 13 October 2026Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6Wildcard on a Street Fighter 6 remix of Olympus: Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim kits, a Fight Gauge that unlocks Fighter Form, and a final-round Showdown. EA
- 13 October 2026 – 3 November 2026Blood PactLiveWildcard on a haunted, fog-covered Kings Canyon: pledge to the Beasts or the Demons and earn faction Wild Cards from per-round challenges. Rev Shell grenades return. EA

Questions
- Does Apex Legends have a solo mode?
- Not in Season 30. Solos has only ever run as a limited-time mode. The runs EA's own patch notes confirm are a six-week takeover of the Duos playlist from 7 May to 24 June 2024, with 50 players and one Second Chance respawn, and a second limited run from 9 to 22 July 2024.
- Is Duos still in Apex Legends?
- Yes. Duos is an Unranked battle royale playlist alongside Trios. There is no Ranked Duos: Ranked is played in squads of three.
- Is Quads still in Apex Legends?
- No. Quads — 15 squads of four — replaced the Duos playlist from 25 June 2024 until the end of Season 21, and EA has not brought it back since.
- Is Arenas still in Apex Legends?
- Not as a permanent mode. Arenas launched as a permanent 3v3 round-based mode in Season 9 and was later retired. It returned only as limited-time modes in Season 25, the last being Arenas: Duels, which ended on 5 August 2025.
- Does Apex Legends have bots?
- Yes, in Bot Royale Evolved, where your squad plays a full battle royale against bot squads; since July 2026 each lobby holds one human squad. EA also tests bot fill in some low-population Unranked matches, and has said there are no plans to add bots to Ranked. Bots can never be on your squad.
- What are amps in Apex Legends?
- Legend Amps are purple loot items, added in Season 26, that give an extra passive on top of your class: Infinite Ammo, Bottomless Batteries, Over Armor, Heal Overflow and Power Booster. They drop in Core modes (Ranked and Unranked battle royale), not in Wildcard.
- What is the Predator cap?
- Apex Predator is the top 750 players in Master on each platform. The RP it takes to get in moves all season; the live figure is on the ranks page.
