Apex Legends PC system requirements
Minimum and recommended specs from EA and Steam side by side, where the two disagree, and the requirements neither table mentions.
GTX 950 or HD 7790, 6 GB RAM, Windows 10
That is the floor: a quad-core Intel Core i3-6300 or AMD FX-4350, 6 GB of RAM, a DirectX 12 graphics card with 2 GB of video memory, 64-bit Windows 10 and 75 GB free. For a steady 60 FPS EA recommends an i5-3570K, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 970 or R9 290. EA
EA's official requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | 64-bit Windows 10 | 64-bit Windows 10 |
| CPU | Intel Core i3-6300 3.8 GHz / AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz quad-core | Intel i5-3570K or equivalent |

| Storage | 75 GB free | 75 GB free |
| DirectX | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
EA describes the recommended tier as for “smooth 60fps gameplay”. Its recommended video memory line says 8 GB, but the two cards it recommends shipped with about 4 GB, so the 8 GB line contradicts EA's own table. EA PC requirements

Where EA and Steam differ
- Recommended CPU
EA says an Intel i5-3570K; Steam says a Ryzen 5. Either is comfortably above the minimum.
- Video memory
EA lists 2 GB minimum and 8 GB recommended. Steam only gives 2 GB on the HD 7790 and no recommended figure.
- Network and languages
Only Steam lists a broadband connection and the ~3.8 GB per extra language. The game is online-only on every store.
- Graphics feature level
Only EA states Feature Level 12_0. Steam just says DirectX 12.
Requirements the tables leave out
- DirectX 12 only
- The DirectX 11 option was removed in 2025; EA called it “the sunsetting of DX11 support” in June that year. There is no fallback for older cards. EA
- Shader Model 6.0
- Since the 9 February 2026 patch the game shows an error on graphics cards without Shader Model 6.0, calling it the minimum spec. Neither requirements table has caught up. patch notes
- EA Javelin Anticheat
- PC moved from Easy Anti-Cheat to EA Javelin Anticheat on 29 September 2026. EA says Secure Boot is not required for Apex Legends. Steam's page still shows the old Easy Anti-Cheat note. EA
- Windows, not Linux or macOS
- Linux and Steam Deck on SteamOS have been blocked since 31 October 2024. There has never been a macOS version. EA
Getting more FPS from the hardware you have
EA's advice for low-end PCs is the lowest graphics settings you can bear: anti-aliasing off, texture streaming budget low or medium, shadows low, ambient occlusion and volumetric lighting disabled. The setting-by-setting list is on best settings, and the frame-rate cap and threading commands are on launch options. To see your frame rate in game, turn on Settings > Gameplay > Performance Display. EA
