Apex Legends error codes and crash fixes
What every Apex Legends error code means and how to fix it, and what to do when the game keeps crashing on PC, PlayStation or Xbox. All 27 codes and every fix come from EA's own help articles.
Try first
Check the server status and @PlayApex for known problems, restart the game and your device, and if that fails, reinstall. EA says your progress is kept when you reinstall.
Server and connection errors
Most of these are on EA's side. Check the server status first; if the servers are down, there's nothing to fix but waiting.
- Error code 110
- A general account problem, usually temporary. Restart the game. If it persists, check server status, then your connection.
- Error code 429
- Usually server maintenance or downtime. Check server status and @PlayApex. If nothing is reported, restart the game and your system and check for an update.
- code:net
- An EA server stopped answering the game. Restart your router, switch to a wired connection, restart your PC or console. If it keeps happening, wait for a fix.
- code:leaf
- EA servers aren't responding, so you can't be put in a match. Same as code:net: router, wired connection, restart; otherwise wait.
- code:wheel (PS4)
- The PlayStation 4 version of net and leaf. Restart your router and use a wired connection; otherwise wait.
- Unable to connect [code:clock]
- The servers stopped waiting for you to connect. Check server status and @PlayApex, test your internet speed, change Data Center, restart your router and platform.
- shoe
- A problem connecting to EA servers. Restart your router and reinstall the game. On PC, also lower video memory in the Video settings.
- Game version does not match host
- Your game is on an older patch. Update the game. On Steam, a progress bar on the launch screen means it's still downloading the update.
- Error code [type=null]
- A crash caused by a season changeover. It clears when your game updates.
Account and party errors
- Error code 100
- Your EA Account and platform account don't match on time zone or date of birth. Make both the same on your EA Account and your platform account.
- Error code 102122
- An EA Account linking problem, usually temporary. Restart the game.
- This profile is already logged in on another device
- You logged out on another platform recently. Wait a few minutes.
- This account is not permitted to play online
- The account may be banned, or it's a connection problem. Check your ban status with EA. If you aren't banned, restart the game and system and check your connection.
- Snake
- A temporary penalty for leaving a match early. Wait until the message goes before queueing again.
- Party leader quit / Party not ready
- The game thinks your party is broken. Leave and rejoin, invite friends from the Lobby instead, return to the main menu, or switch to Training and back. Then restart.
PC crash and file errors
Repairing the game files fixes most of these: in the EA app, open Library, Apex Legends, the Manage icon, then Repair.
- Apex_crash.txt
- The game has crashed. Repair the game files, then work through the crash steps below.
- DXGI_ERROR / DEVICE_HUNG
- A background app is stuck. Fully restart your PC.
- Error code 23
- Outdated graphics drivers, or missing or damaged game files. Match your EA Account's language and region to the EA app, update graphics drivers, and repair or reinstall (Windows key + R, appwiz.cpl).
- r5apex.exe
- Something is inconsistent in the installation. Repair the game files and update Windows.
- Invalid game executable
- Your antivirus is blocking the game. Add r5apex.exe as an exception in Avast or AVG, then repair the game.
- DirectX error 4294967287
- Shows up while installing the game. Clean boot your PC. EA doesn't recommend uninstalling your antivirus.
- Out of Sync with server
- Your game has fallen out of sync with the server. Settings, Video tab: set Texture Streaming Budget to None.
- Error code 30005
- Anti-cheat failed to launch. Repair the game files in the EA app or Steam, or delete the .sys file in C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat and restart.
- Failed Anti-Cheat runtime integrity check
- A corrupted file broke the anti-cheat check. Repair the game in the EA app. If that doesn't work, wait for a fix.
Console errors
- CE-34878-0 (PlayStation)
- The game hit an error. Restart the console in Safe Mode.
- Club operation 19 failed
- Usually after resuming the console from rest mode. Restart the game.
- ui/userinfo.nut (PlayStation)
