Combat Racer

Axle is a Skirmisher Legend who was introduced in Season 29. She could be played for free at the start of the season, and can be unlocked using digital currency: either 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins.

She is a Legend who can rush into fights quickly with her Nitro Gate tactical, using the speed boost to move quickly towards enemies or cover. Her ultimate, Kickstart, can be used to launch enemies into the air, making them easy pickings to shoot while also limiting their mid-air movement. Her Drift passive gives her increased speed and increased movement control while sliding.

Nitro Gate

Cooldown 25s

Deploy a speed gate that sends users into a boosted slide.

Throws down a gate that sticks to horizontal surfaces. Any player that steps on it is given a massive speed boost and is forced into a slide. The slide can be cancelled prematurely at any point.
Stepping on the gate also cleanses any slowing effects, similarly to Octane's Stim.
Gate has 150 health.
Up to 3 can exist in the world at once per player.
Axle can deal damage to her own Nitro Gates.
Since Season 30, the slide boost lasts at most 3 seconds (was 5). The Long Haul upgrade restores 5 seconds.
Since the 25 August 2026 hotfix, the launch speed is 700 (was 750).
Since the 1 October 2026 hotfix, the initial push speed is 650 (was 700), sliding lateral control is 25% lower while boosted, and increased aim assist is off for boosted players.

Deploy an enemy-seeking drone that displaces targets on impact.

Deploys a drone that flies forward. It will attempt to scale surfaces vertically. If it cannot scale the surface it simply hits the surface and detonates.
Drone moves at 650 velocity.
Drone has a maximum lifetime of 15 seconds.
The drone has a vision radius of 10 meters and has a vision field of view of 80 degrees. If any enemy player is seen by the drone, the drone starts chasing the enemy player. Chased players are highlighted to you and allies.
Since Season 30, the drone also affects Axle and her allies. Axle takes damage and is stunned and displaced; allies are stunned and displaced but take no damage.
Since the 25 August 2026 hotfix, the drone has 150 health (was 200), the knockback arc is wider with a lower maximum height, and the stun lasts 0.25 seconds (was 1.5).
The base cooldown is 120 seconds (was 90). The Drone Deployer upgrade brings it back to 90 seconds.
Since the 1 October 2026 hotfix, the maximum knock-up is 650 (was 700), the knock-up is much weaker if the drone locks on immediately after deployment, and the drone abandons a chase after 8 seconds (was 10).

Season 31 · 2 November 2026

From the 1 October 2026 hotfix, restated in the Season 31 notes: sliding is harder to steer (lateral control down 50%, and 25% for players boosted by Nitro Gate), and Nitro Gate users lose increased aim assist.
Nitro Gate's initial push speed dropped to 650 (was 700). Kickstart's knock-up is capped at 650 (was 700), is much weaker if the drone locks on straight after deployment, and the drone gives up a chase after 8 seconds (was 10).

25 August hotfix: Nitro Gate launch speed fell to 700 (was 750). Kickstart's drone has 150 health (was 200), a 120-second cooldown (was 90), a wider but lower knockback, and a 0.25-second stun (was 1.5).
Jump Gate was replaced by the Drone Deployer upgrade, which brings Kickstart's cooldown back to 90 seconds.

Kickstart launches victims in an arc based on their speed, and highlights them for slightly less time.
