What changed in Season 23

Summarised from EA's patch notes. Each legend, weapon and map below has its changes on its own page.

  • Season 23 launched with a reworked Lifeline: a new Combat Glide passive and a new D.O.C. Halo ultimate.
  • Support Legends gained two class perks: Heal Expert (full walk speed while healing, double healing from small meds) and Revive Expert (25% faster revives).
  • Rift Relics appear during matches and drop special weapons such as the EPG-1 launcher and exotic hop-ups.
  • The HAVOC moved into the Care Package and the Devotion returned to floor loot.
  • New Accelerator hop-up, built into the Nemesis, G7 Scout and C.A.R.: more EVO and ultimate charge from damage, and knocks grant 30% ultimate charge while an Accelerator weapon is equipped.
  • The Select Fire hop-up returned for the Prowler and the Charge Rifle.
  • Opening a Care Package now grants EVO to the whole squad.
  • Loba, Mirage and Alter were reworked, and Pathfinder's grapple cooldown became a flat 30 seconds.

How Apex seasons work

Seasons run about three months each. Every one brings a balance pass, a new Battle Pass and usually a new legend, sometimes a new weapon, and either a new map or a substantial update to an existing one. Ranked resets alongside the season, which is why the Apex Predator cut collapses back to the Master floor for the first few days.

Season 23 is one of 31 so far — see every season and its dates, or every patch note since launch.
