What changed in Season 26

Season 26 introduced Locked Hop-Ups: hop-ups left floor loot and now come pre-equipped on gold and Care Package weapons, or are unlocked with Locked Hop-Up Points from damage, Arsenals and Hop-Up Boosters.
New Amps add a temporary perk such as infinite ammo, bottomless batteries or extra shield capacity.
The RE-45 Burst, an energy pistol firing 3-round bursts, replaced the RE-45 Auto in floor loot.
The Akimbo P2020 moved into the Care Package and the Peacekeeper returned to the floor.
Bangalore and Caustic were reworked.
Midseason update: Seer and Mad Maggie were reworked, and Ash, Caustic and Sparrow were toned down.
Locked hop-ups rotated: the Accelerator moved from the Peacekeeper, L-STAR and Alternator to the G7 Scout, C.A.R. and Flatline; the Mastiff gained the Graffiti Mod; and the new Turbocharger locked hop-up went to the HAVOC and Devotion.
Event update with fixes only; no balance changes.

How Apex seasons work

Seasons run about three months each. Every one brings a balance pass, a new Battle Pass and usually a new legend, sometimes a new weapon, and either a new map or a substantial update to an existing one. Ranked resets alongside the season, which is why the Apex Predator cut collapses back to the Master floor for the first few days.
